RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Sandbo’s research focuses on fibroblast biology and signaling in the context of tissue remodeling and pulmonary fibrosis. He is interested in the interaction between cell shape/cytoskeletal reorganization and associated downstream intracellular signaling/transcriptional regulation in this context. Elucidation of these signaling pathways has implications for the cross-talk between mechanical stimuli and traditional soluble and paracrine mediators of fibroblast activation (TGF-beta, G-protein coupled receptor agonists, etc).
