Mission

The mission of the CMP Diversity Committee is to inspire individuals from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds to choose careers in translational medical research.

Vision

Our vision is to establish an environment where the intellectual contributions and cultural heritage of every person is acknowledged and appreciated irrespective of their sex, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or other individual differences.

Strategy

We will work towards our mission and vision by adopting the following strategies:

  • Actively create a climate where everyone feels welcome, respected, and included.
  • Carefully gather information on successful methods for recruiting students from historically marginalized groups and ensuring their success once they enroll in the Program.
  • Facilitate access to the array of Diversity and Inclusion resources provided by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
  • Ensure that the speaker roster for the Pathology Seminar Series comprises individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
