Research Summary:
Interactions between host genetics, cellular immunity, and infectious disease pathogenesis, with a primary emphasis on HIV/AIDS.
Research Detail:

My laboratory studies the interplay between viral pathogenesis and host immunity. We focus primarily on HIV/AIDS, with projects studying protective immune responses and how host and viral genetics influence disease progression. We are also involved in the discovery and characterization of new viruses, with an eye towards understanding how viruses like HIV suddenly emerged in the 20th century and what influences the emergence of new viruses in the 21st century.
